Pétrichor
The Nature of the Womb by Alex Stoddard
Pétrichor: odeur particulière, habituellement agréable, que prend la terre après la pluie. Ce mot a été forgé en 1964 par deux géologues australiens, J. Bear and R. G. Thomas (Nature 993/2), qui dénommaient ainsi le liquide huileux qui coule de certaines roches pendant les périodes sèches, et qui, après la pluie, dégage une odeur agréable. Il a ensuite été généralisé par l'usage à l'odeur de la terre après la pluie.
